Tip… I’ve worked with really talented people and I’ve worked with really untalented people. When it comes down to the wire though I just want to work with people who want to be there. People who show up early, people who respond quick, people with a great attitude, people I can trust my vision with. Even if they aren’t the best, I will make them the best if they can give me that.
I’ve have often said that I will break my back to always make sure my great and talented friend Kathy Eberhard will have a special part in all my movies cause she has always believed in me. When I was begging people to be in my first movie “Wake Up” she was the only person (non family and non sweet boyfriend) to jump at the chance and help me out. And that is very special to me. I had no money to pay her, a terrible script, a terrible camera, a dying computer (which is still hanging in there) an insane deadline and she still was so excited to help me. And while having to sit through that movie is like nails on a chalk board to me, it is really cool to see how I with the help of others created something out of nothing. That terrible headache inducing movie got noticed by Amazon Studios due to being made from nothing and being such a huge undertaking and paved the way for me to make bigger and bigger projects with actual casts and crews.
It amazes me that in as little of a year I have went from litterally begging people to play a part to having people asking me constantly to be in my works and me having to turn people down because I only have so many parts.
I hate that I can’t really pay people, I pay a little but hell that is mostly gas money and food if that. It shocked me even that when I did my taxes this year I had expenses over 4 X what I made off my video endevours. I thought it was more like 3 X. But still with no money consistantly rolling out more and more complex works. Getting to do my short “StereoType” with a full make up crew was amazing even though I was cast away in the back room for most of the day shooting and never even got to have them work on me.
I know I owe so many people thanks for each of my projects and believe me, I am grateful to all of you.
Thank you,
Rachel
Look what I got! The proof for “StereoType” on DVD!
I likes it
New vid! “Get Out”
Me in the studio working
$136 poorer I sit. But bought new lighting and parts to make a boom mic pole and fig rig. That will be my project after work tonight.
Also got paint for the walls of my basic shooting room. Two white, one deep blue, one deep red. Why no lime green for green screening? Cause I hate green screen with a passion and will just buy a drop if I ever see a need.
It’s time to get my new studio space in order.
So my quirky comedy, “I Love My Wife” got an IMDb page:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2033275/
Now I got word of this awhile back but it takes time for them to update it and fix errors and what not. Super cool is all. :D
“I Love My Wife” will most likely go online some time in the near future, but if you can’t wait you can grab a DVD of it here:

Side note… someone very mean once left me off the credits of a video project that was supposed to be my very first IMDb credit (I have been on multiple TV shows but they buy footage from me as opposed to paying me to be on their show so I am not given credit on the shows). Well she decided to leave me off cause bascially she was a bad person, that’s really the only reasoning that I know of, since I kicked ass and did an awesome job on set.
So now to have credits from my own work (“Wake Up” my 70 minute movie was my first credit and now “I Love My Wife” is my second) is super awesome and means 1000 times more than if I had gotten my first IMDb credits from someone else’s project.
If you are not into film stuff, IMDb credits just make you sound legit basically. Just a cool thing.
It’s halloween! Get your final scare with my horror movie “StereoType”! Oh and it is free to view! :D
Adam is coming…
“I Love My Wife” is now on DVD!
You can buy it here:

A short movie about pure love and pure insanity.
‘I Love My Wife’ follows the unique story of a young couple trying to take life one day at a time as they deal with the wife’s mental disorder.
My new short horror movie has arrived!
*Warning: This movie contains violence, viewer discretion is strongly advised*
Adam is smart. Adam is well dressed. Adam is good looking. And Adam is about to kill seven people.
Pushed to the breaking point Adam decides to go after the stereotypes of people who have forced him to change everything about himself. The drug dealer, the deadbeat mom, the video hoe, the gangbanger, the absentee father, the junkie… all are about to meet Adam.
“StereoType” is a 25 minute short graphic horror movie exploring with race issues and stereotypes. Adam is coming.
Alone on a Friday night? Then you need some horror! “Roadkill” is here!
“Roadkill” was my first major project. I wrote/shot/edited it all by myself. My great father has a quick cameo, he helped me scrap roadkill off the side of the road for a month before… I love my daddy.
I was in ATL last year with some people with money who do production and I watch this short they made with a $10,000 budget. And the thing was crap so I decided to come home and make something better. ;)
